Radio Plays - Turn on the Talking Wirless

Event , Concert or Performance At Redland MuseumRedland Museum

On October 09, 2021

Celebrating Senior Month 2021

Gather around the fireplace, get comfortable - and Turn on the Walking Wireless!

If you're of "A Certain Age", this is a delightful return trip - if you're younger, this is a chance to discover the videos your mind can make!

Redlands Museum is the perfect retro setting for Theatre Redlands' production, Turn on the Talking Wireless! A selection of radio plays will be presented live as if the audience were in the broadcast studio as the plays go to air.
One standing microphone, actors with scripts in hand, sound effects created live and through computerised Foley recordings, the radio ads we love and laugh at - and even a chorus of "Doo-Wah Girls" will add special magic to your listening pleasure.

The show includes two Grace Gibson Productions classics; Dad and Dave's Snake Gully Cup and medical doco-drama A Shrine for Janie Gallagher.  An episode of Blue Hills, from Gwen Meredith's iconic series, will round off the nostalgia.  More recent productions are Linda Stevenson's clever comedy The Sound of Silence and Jan Nary's thriller Battered Haddock.
