Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival

At the 14th Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival, world-class musicians play chamber music masterpieces at an intimate venue in the magnificent natural setting of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).

For the first time since 2019, violinist Rachel Smith, the festival's artistic director, and cellist Eric de Wit will return from Edinburgh and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra to deliver a stimulating but healing musical experience, with some fireworks thrown in.

They will be joined on stage by some of Australia's finest musicians, including Sophie Rowell (violin), Michael Pisani (oboe and cor anglais), Caroline Henbest (viola), Louise King (cello), Irit Silver (clarinet) and three pianists – Stephen Emmerson, Sonya Lifschitz and Therese Milanovic. For the iconic Saturday-night concert there's an evening of song with acclaimed singer, songwriter and composer Megan Washington.

The usual six concerts will again all be held at the Point Lookout Community Hall rather than at different venues on the island.

Enjoy these three days of music amid the winter sun, surf and, of course, the humpback whales.
