Wellington Point Recreation Reserve

King Island Walk, Wellington Point (Cullen Cullen) — A Redlands Coast Icon

Discover one of Southeast Queensland's most unique coastal walks.

Overlooking beautiful Moreton Bay, the Wellington Point Recreation Reserve is a favourite destination for locals and visitors alike. This family-friendly park features shaded playgrounds, a calm sandy beach, boat ramps, a popular fishing jetty, and the iconic King Island Walk — one of the most memorable experiences on Redlands Coast.

Walk Across the Sand Bridge to King Island (Erobin)

At low tide, a spectacular natural sand causeway appears, linking Wellington Point Recreation Reserve to the tiny, uninhabited King Island (Erobin). This easy 2km return walk lets you quite literally walk on water, making it perfect for families, couples, and photographers.

Feel the sand between your toes, soak up the fresh sea breeze, and take in panoramic ocean and bay views. Along the way, look out for small sea creatures, shells, and wading birds that make this intertidal zone their home.

Tip: Check the tide times before heading out — the causeway is only accessible during low tide.

The Wellington Point Recreation Reserve offers everything you need for a relaxed day outdoors — shaded picnic tables, barbecue areas, accessible toilets, and outdoor exercise equipment. After your walk, enjoy a meal or coffee at one of the nearby Wellington Point cafes overlooking the water.

Whether you're exploring Redlands Coast for the first time or returning for another seaside adventure, the King Island Walk is a must-do Queensland experience that showcases the natural beauty and coastal charm of the region.
