Give urban sketching a go at Winter Memorial Park and discover how easy and enjoyable it can be to draw what is right in front of you.
As part of AdventureFest, this relaxed outdoor session invites people of all ages and abilities to slow down, look around and put pencil to paper. You do not need special skills or expensive art supplies to join in. Just bring some paper and a pencil — it really is as simple as that.
Whether you sketch a tree, a building, a pathway, a flower, or just a little corner of the park, urban sketching is all about noticing the world around you and enjoying the process of drawing in the moment. There is no right or wrong way to do it, which makes it perfect for beginners as well as more experienced sketchers.
Come along, have a try, and enjoy a creative morning in a friendly and welcoming setting.
The RCAS Urban Sketching Group also meets every Wednesday at a different location across the Redlands, so this is a great chance to dip your toe in and see what it is all about.
